How should I read H1B database records?

  • An LCA is a filing, not a hire. It does not prove a petition was approved or that anyone started work.
  • The wage is base pay, often the low end of a range, without bonus or equity.
  • Data lags. DOL publishes quarterly, so the newest months are missing.
  • One company, many names. Large employers file under subsidiaries; search a short version of the name.

USCIS also publishes approval and denial counts by employer: see our guide to the H-1B Employer Data Hub.

Frequently asked questions

What is the H1B database?

A searchable copy of Department of Labor LCA disclosure data: which employers filed H-1B Labor Condition Applications, for what job titles, where and at what offered wage. Ours covers FY2021 to FY2026.

Is the H1B database free?

Yes. Searching employers, browsing roles and states, and the 20 most recent filings for each employer are free. Every filing for an employer, with exports, is part of Sponsor Intel Pro.

Does an LCA in the database mean the employer will sponsor me?

No. An LCA shows the employer filed for that kind of job in the past. Ask the recruiter whether the specific role can be sponsored before you apply.

Why can I not search by job title?

Job titles are covered through the role pages, which summarize every filing for 22 common occupations. A free-text search across every filing is too slow to offer reliably today.

Where does the data come from?

The U.S. Department of Labor's public LCA disclosure files. Wages are the offered wage stated on each filing, often the low end of a range, and exclude bonus and equity.
