About the Role
As the Controller at Beyond Global Management/Beyond International Group, you will play a pivotal role in leading our financial operations and steering the direction of our accounting practices as we expand across North America and Asian markets. This full-time role is based in Houston, TX, and offers a promising pathway to the position of Chief Financial Officer (CFO). Reporting directly to the senior executive team, you will ensure the precision and efficacy of our financial processes, embodying our dynamic and growth-oriented corporate ethos.
Responsibilities
Lead the general ledger accounting activities of the corporate and funds to ensure timely and accurate reporting in accordance with US GAAP.
Manage monthly and quarterly corporate and funds closing process to ensure accounting tasks are completed accurately and timely, including leading the group consolidated financial reporting for US and overseas entities.
Collaborating with tax adviser on tax compliance, distribution calculations and other special projects to ensure timely filing of federal and state tax returns, including collection of K-1s from portfolio companies and distribution of K-1s, 1099s,1042s, etc.
Lead and oversee the yearly budget and quarterly reforecast processes. Provide timely and accurate analysis of budgets, financial reports and financial trends in order to assist senior management and other executives in performing their duties.
Partner across departments in the planning and integration of systems, improving financial management tools related to performance, defining roles and responsibilities and delivering effective improvements to processes as part of the fund investment initiative.
Managing relationships with key counterparties related to the financial operations.
Preparing timely and accurate internal and external operating reports, and other discreet reporting as required by financing and partnership agreements.
Assisting in the preparation of quarterly valuations of portfolio investments following the firm’s valuation policy.
Collaborating with fund operation team on the preparation of fund’s cash distribution and waterfall calculations as part of the disposition process
Managing fund audits as needed, including the preparation of schedules, liaising with the auditors, and responding to open items.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have 5- 10+ years of experience and a strong background in driving and overseeing fund financial reporting, financial operations, regulatory and tax compliance, quarterly financial reporting for GP and LPs, budgeting, management of third-party fund administrators, and annual audit support.
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field. Continued academic achievements such as a master’s degree, CPA, CFA, or other relevant certifications is a plus.
Broad exposure to all fundamental financial and accounting disciplines including general accounting, audit, reporting, cost accounting, planning, analysis, budgeting, information systems, taxation, treasury, insurance, credit, regulatory reporting and compliance, and risk management.
Excellent organizational, communication and interpersonal skills.
Demonstrate commitment to excellence and social consciousness.
Must be able to commute to Houston, TX.
Strong leadership, drafting, analytical, communication, and organizational skills.
Ability to work independently while remaining a strong team player.
Substantial initiative, creativity, and drive.
