Ford Model E is responsible for developing the key technologies and capabilities – such as EV platforms, batteries, e-motors, inverters, charging and recycling – to create ground-up, breakthrough electric vehicles. The Staff Electrical Systems Integration Engineer will be responsible for concept development and system level design of the Vehicle Electrical System Architecture through multiple stages of development starting from the block diagram architecture phase. You will Conceptualize, Design, Engineer, Develop and support the launch of next generation Vehicle Platform Architectures for electric vehicles.

The minimum requirements we seek:

  • B.S. in Electrical Engineering
  • Strong Electrical Engineering fundamentals
  • 5+ years of experience designing and developing electric vehicle architectures
  • 3+ years of experience using vehicle network interface tools (Vector, Peak, Intrepid, etc)
  • 5+ year of experience in a factory setting launching new products

Preferred Requirements :

  • Masters in Electrical Engineering
  • Hands-on experience building and launching automotive products and vehicle prototyping
  • Experience with Microsoft Office, Confluence, and Jira applications
  • Experience with instrumentation of prototype vehicles in a controlled lab environment
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • An eagerness to work cross-functionally in a dynamic environment where you are part of a high performing team
  • A system approach to design and development with the desire and curiosity to strive for exceptional delivery execution and continuous improvement
  • Experience deriving cost, manufacturability, reliability and failure modes tradeoffs from based on specific designs

What you’ll be able to do:

  • Lead Electrical Systems Integration of next generation Model e products
  • Support Low Voltage System Architecture Development and influence the design and optimization of the electrical distribution
  • Derive optimal electrical solutions to defined vehicle feature definitions
  • Work closely with Hardware Engineers in gathering all I/O (Input/Outputs) and characterize all downstream components
  • Lead device transmittal definition for all electrical components for Model e programs
  • Facilitate integration of electromechanical closure systems and make recommendations for optimal solutions and designs that affect top-level architecture
  • Develop requirements for Low Voltage Subsystem while collaborating with development teams throughout the engineering organization
  • Bring your cross-functional vehicle mindset into discussions, grasping how signals propagate across network and truly understand how vehicle operates electrically end-to-end.
