Your Responsibilities


As the Product Verification &Validation Lead of the Structures & Valvetrain Module for John Deere Power Systems located in Waterloo, IA, you will…

  • Plan and actively manage the allocation of resources (people, test cells, and R&D spend) to support the required Structures (Cylinder Block, Cylinder Head) and Valvetrain development primary focus on current PDP programs but will support CI and TDP efforts as well.
  • Lead the creation of PV&V plans for the S&VT on PDP, CI, and TDP programs with support of external suppliers, design team, virtual analysis team, application engineering, and the applied mechanics team.
  • Track, monitor, report, and execute PV&V plans with the mechanical development and virtual verification team.
  • Interpret results of PV&V tests to ensure a robust S&VT system and subsystem components that meets system engineering requirements.
  • Analyze, interpret, and document PV&V test results.
  • Support model based and virtual verification execution.
  • Drive customer focused design and performance layer 7 & 8 system engineering requirement verification plan and track progress.
  • Communicate CAR and PV&V status to key stakeholders.
  • Support module workbook, design guidelines, and workflow mapping.

What Skills You Need


  • 3 or more years of executing and supporting engine development
  • Technical knowledge of Valve train design and structural components, functionality, failure investigation, and/or development
  • 3 or more years of operating a test cell, taking lab measurements, and/or interpreting lab results
  • 2 or more years working with external suppliers
  • Ability and willingness to travel up to 10%

What Makes You Stand Out


  • Experience with Diadem and other data analysis tools like Matlab, Excel
  • Applied mechanics experience
  • Mechanical development and engine calibration experience
  • Experience with data modeling, processing large data
  • Master’s degree in Engineering



Ideally you will have a degree or equivalent related work experience in the following:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering
