MVA Branch Manager II – Field Operations Executive ServiceThis position serves at the pleasure of the Appointing AuthorityCurrent vacancies exist within Talbot, St. Mary’s, and Montgomery Counties. The Maryland Department of Transportation Motor Vehicle Administration (MDOT MVA) is seeking dynamic, progressive candidates with a focus on delivering premier customer service with innovative ideas and solutions.The MVA Branch Manager is responsible for assisting in the management of complex transportation operations. This position is a member of the MDOT MVA leadership team and requires a results-oriented individual who can foster a collaborative environment. Responsibilities include: Planning, leading, directing, organizing, and overseeing assigned branch operations, audits, compliance, and premier customer serviceWorking with employees to solve problems for customersPlans, assigns, schedules, and evaluates the work of subordinate supervisors, driver license agents, customer agents, maintenance, and support staffActing as a change agent within the MVADeveloping workflow efficienciesWorking in a union environment Ideal candidates will possess: Ability to analyze data to inform organizational decisionsExcellent critical thinking skillsExperience managing and adjusting the staffing levels of large teams to fit business needsExcellent people skills and customer service experienceExcellent written and verbal communication skillsAbility to give input and implement changes to policy and procedureDesire to act as a public servant, providing premier customer serviceThree (Assistant Manager)/Five (Manager) or more years of leadership experience, preferably in a fast-paced, customer-focused environmentMDOT offers a generous and competitive benefits package. Preferred QualificationsEducation: Possession of a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university. Experience: Three years of experience managing the operations of a retail-banking branch; the operations of an independent unit of a larger retail organization; or the operations of a subordinate section within a non-profit or governmental transportation or regulatory organization.ORThree years of experience supervising the operations of a subordinate section or unit that includes the processing of drivers’ licenses, vehicle titles/registration, insurance compliance or other related function. Note: Additional management or supervisory experience as described above may be substituted on a year for year basis for the required educationat the rate of one year of management or supervisory experience for thirty credit hours of education, for up to four years of the required education.
