Job Summary/Basic Functions
A Model Laboratory School bus driver is responsible for the safe transportation of students and other passengers as well safe and efficient operation and maintenance of the assigned bus/vehicle in accordance with EKU regulations, Model policies and procedures, and Kentucky statutes and regulations for K-12 schools. Drivers are called as-needed for a variety of transportation needs such as field trips and competitions.

Education:
Experience:
Licensure & Certifications: Commercial driver’s license with passenger and school bus endorsement is required.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience as a school bus driver.
Availability for daytime and evening trips.
Job Duties:
- 80% – Ensure safe transportation of all students and passengers entrusted to the vehicle operator. – (Essential)
- 10% – Provide general supervision of students on and around the vehicle. – (Essential)
- 10% – Maintain required CDL training requirements and trip documentation. – (Essential)
Sponsorship: Visa sponsorship will be considered on a case-by-case basis, depending upon the needs of the unit, available sponsorship budget, and the qualifications of the candidate.
