**We are considering a remote schedule for this position.**

CDM Smith is one of the world’s top engineering firms providing innovative and creative solutions for our clients and assisting them in achieving successful outcomes on their most important water, infrastructure, environmental and transportation programs. Our growing utility asset management practice works closely with large domestic and international utilities to solve complex problems and improve how they manage and reinvest in their infrastructure.

This mid-level position will involve working closely with clients to craft and implement comprehensive solutions tailored to each client’s specific needs. Those solutions usually involve some combination of collecting/ assembling/ analyzing data, implementing new custom or COTS software, deploying mobile applications, defining and implementing new business processes, and growing the capabilities of the clients’ organization through coaching and training on the new tools, software, and business processes. Responsibilities of this management consulting position will likely include:

  • Conducting client interviews and evaluating existing data and software.
  • Identifying key gaps preventing clients from achieving their program/ organizational goals.
  • Developing financial models and providing financial and rate projections to guide client decision making.
  • Eliciting and defining software requirements.
  • Supporting the selection and implementation of new software and mobile applications.
  • Training end users on how to use the new hardware/software and on their roles and responsibilities.
  • Facilitating meetings with client staff to elicit specific information.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • 5 years of related experience.
  • Domestic and/or international travel may be required.
  • The frequency of travel is contingent on specific duties, responsibilities, and the essential functions of the position, which may vary depending on workload and project demands.
  • Equivalent additional directly related experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience interviewing clients and facilitating meetings designed to efficiently elicit information
  • Experience developing or refining condition assessment or preventive maintenance programs
  • Experience developing or refining business processes and roles/responsibilities

Experience implementing, or improving the use of, computerized maintenance management systems (preferably Maximo or SAP)

Skills and Abilities

Solid knowledge of corporate governance practices, organization design principles, accounting principles, finance, supply chain management, and organization management. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Ability to understand complex technical, professional and business materials.
