Full Job Description
This entry-level position is for a recent graduate looking to use their passion for science and communication to create meaningful public engagement. You will join CDM Smith’s growing, cross-discipline strategic communications team, with the opportunity to work on projects across the U.S. in the water and environment sectors. Projects you may work include water lead service line replacement program and PFAS risk communication efforts.

Working with a public engagement and/or risk communication team, including CDM Smith personnel and subconsultants, for each project
Helping develop public engagement plans, timelines, highly visual presentations and professional communications
Organizing logistics for targeted virtual and in-person engagement efforts
Creating postcards, fact sheets, fliers, social media posts, and door hangars meant to communicate targeted messages and translate technical information into something the general public can understand
Interacting with the public, especially disadvantaged communities, via virtual and on-the-ground community forums
Conducting demographic and other related community research
Working with social media and electronic methods of survey and data collection
Communicating regularly with project stakeholders (elected officials, citizens, business community representatives, and environmental justice communities)
Some weekend and evening hours may be required to attend project public engagement events. Your work will support public engagement and risk communication efforts nationwide, starting with projects in the Northeast U.S.
