Your Responsibilities
As an Engineer for JD Power Systems – Waterloo located in Waterloo, Iowa, you will…
Support engine and aftertreatment design, controls and component specification and development (combustion system, fuel system, air system, aftertreatment etc.)
Manage a laboratory tests, providing clear work direction for lab technicians, coordinating test schedules and experiments, and timely resolution of issues
Independently analyze data, create and present summaries, and convey recommended conclusions or courses of action in a timely fashion
Make use of modeling techniques to rapidly explore design space to more efficiently arrive at optimal engineering solutions

What Skills You Need
Knowledge of engine and/or aftertreatment functionality
Knowledge of systems theory and controls
Knowledge of instrumentation and data acquisition
Demonstrated skills in data analysis and decision making
What Makes You Stand Out
Experience in performance and emissions calibration and development of engines or aftertreatment
Experience using engine test lab equipment, data acquisition, and data analysis tools
Knowledge of diesel engines emissions control technologies and emissions regulations
Experience using Design of Experiment methodologies, modeling, and optimization techniques
User experience with performance simulation tools such as GT-Power
User experience with data collection and analysis tools such as National Instruments Diadem analysis software
User experience with Matlab and associated toolboxes (MBC, CAGE, Simulink)
Education
Ideally you will have a degree or equivalent related work experience in the following:
Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Agricultural Engineering, or related engineering discipline or equivalent work experience
Advanced degree desired
