Job Description

The Department of Surgery is seeking a highly motivated individual to coordinate the administrative and functions for the Division of General Surgery. The Division Lead will provide administrative and financial leadership within the division to ensure the division is meeting the strategic goals of the School of Medicine and the University of Missouri. This person will work closely with the division chief, faculty, and departmental personnel to achieve divisional goals.

Description of job duties primarily include:

  • Provide administrative support to faculty members in the Division of General Surgery. This includes calendar management, coordination of meetings and logistics, as well as ensuring all materials are prepared in advance.
  • Coordinating physician travel, including completion of departmental leave and travel forms, tracking physician leave, coordination of flight arrangements, booking of hotels, and registration of courses.
  • Maintain faculty CVs, division CV, and enter information into myVita system. Enter provider call schedule into the call schedule system and QGenda.
  • Supervise office support staff. Evaluate and review performance. Approval of payroll for office support staff.
  • Processing of VA Timesheets/CSA Timesheets (when applicable)
  • Provide support to the fellowship program director and to the fellows in General Surgery to meet the educational and scholarship missions of the fellowship program. Review applicants, create interview schedule, participate in onboarding, and assist with completion of fellowship paperwork regarding accreditation. Assist with development and facilitate educational and curriculum activities, materials, and documents. Coordinate annual renewal of all licenses for fellows. Monitor credentialing and federal visa compliance for those fellows on a J1 or H1b visa in the General Surgery program. Coordinate the annual renewal of these visas. Provide assistance to the faculty/fellows with professional research and support for producing, publishing, and presenting scholarly documents.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Salary

Salary Range:$15.75-$27.42 (hourly)

Grade:GGS-007

Minimum Qualifications

An Associate’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience and at least 2 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary.
