The Broadcast Operations Transit Team Reporter of the Maryland Department of Transportation Maryland Transit Administration (MDOT MTA) handles the acquisition and distribution of MTA service-related delay and traffic content as well as service-related delay status information for all Maryland Department of Transportation (MDOT) agencies (MTA, MAA, MdTA, SHA, MPA, MVA), across MTA’s Transit Team network of radio stations. The successful candidate will prepare and deliver up-to-the-minute MTA Bus, Light Rail, Metro Subway, MARC Train, Mobility and Commuter Bus status and delay information to radio and television outlets throughout the region, including MTA’s own FM radio stations.In addition, the Reporter Producer will develop and produce informational and feature content for use on MTA’s radio, television and/or social media outlets. The chosen candidate must be dependable, a team-player and accustomed to working effectively in a dynamic, deadline-driven broadcast operation.Other related duties will be assigned, as well.The ideal candidate will possess the following: • Radio or television traffic reporting experience• Storytelling experience• Radio and podcast audio production experience• Ability to handle multiple projects at one time• Excellent written and oral communication skills• Exceptional interpersonal communication skills.The successful candidate must have the ability to work the morning or afternoon drive-time shifts. Education: A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.Experience: Four years of experience in administrative or professional workNotes: Additional experience in administrative or professional work may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for the required education.Additional graduate level education at an accredited college or university may be substituted at the rate of 30 semester credit hours on a year-to-year basis for the required general experience.Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience involving staff work related to the administration of rules, regulations, policies, procedures and processes, or overseeing or coordinating unit operations or functioning as a staff assistant on a year-for-year basis for the required education and experience.
