Staff Pharmacist
The Position:
Are you looking for a steady job as a staff pharmacist with the opportunity to make a positive daily impact in people’s lives through the medications you make on a daily basis? If so, consider this opportunity at a unique local pharmacy located in Hixson, TN. We offer a Work environment that is much less stressful than typical corporate chain pharmacies.
We are looking for a full-time pharmacist to join our team of trained technicians and pharmacists.
OPT and H1B sponsorship is also available if hired for international students and Pharmacist.
About Medicine Counter Pharmacy:
Medicine Counter Pharmacy is an independently-owned pharmacy located in Hixson, TN that serves patients by providing them with customized medications. Our mission is to improve the health and well-being of patients through creative solutions to health challenges. We make high-quality, customized prescriptions to meet individualized needs and build strong relationships with patients and doctors. We are a unique pharmacy where all of our medications are made on-site. At Medicine Counter Pharmacy, We do it all. On top of filling traditional prescriptions, We all non-sterile compounding, such as specializing in medications used for hormone replacement therapy and women’s health. We also make customized dosage forms for pain management, dermatology, weight loss, pet compounding, etc… We also offer bubble packs, prescription delivery, med synch, immunization, etc…
Position Qualifications:
The required qualifications for the open Pharmacist position include the following.
1) Bachelor’s or Doctor of Pharmacy
2) A current active Tennessee Pharmacist license and Immunization certified
3) A genuine commitment to patients
4) A positive, problem-solving attitude
5) A consistent approach that is oriented towards helping co-workers achieve success with their jobs
6) A demonstrated ability to pay close attention to detail
7) The physical ability to stand on one’s feet throughout the day
8) An ongoing commitment to learning and performing the skill of making medications at the highest level of quality in the compounding field
9) A demonstrated ability to set goals and see tasks through to completion
10) Super Accuracy skills
11) Must be able to stand and work 10 hours day and lift up to 40 lb of weight
Preferred qualifications include:
1) Three years or more employees in one company
2) Production-oriented work history
3) Previous compounding experience
4) Previous community pharmacy experience
Job description:
Serving patients by preparing medications, giving pharmacological information to the multidisciplinary health care teams, and monitoring patient drug therapies.
Preparing medications by reviewing and interpreting physician orders and detecting therapeutic incompatibilities.
Dispensing medications by compounding, packaging, and labeling pharmaceuticals.
Controlling medications by monitoring drug therapies; advising interventions.
Completing pharmacy operational requirements by organizing and directing technicians’ workflow, verifying their preparation and labeling of pharmaceuticals, and verifying order entries, charges, and inspections.
Providing pharmacological information by answering questions and requests of health care professionals and counseling patients on drug therapies.
Complying with state and federal drug laws as regulated by the state board of pharmacy, the drug enforcement administration, and the food and drug administration.
Maintaining records for controlled substances and removing outdated and damaged drugs from the pharmacy inventory.
Supervising the work results of support personnel.
Maintaining current registration, studying existing and new legislation, anticipating legislation, and advising management on needed actions.
Protecting patients and technicians by adhering to infection-control protocols.
Maintaining a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
Contributing to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
Hours:
9 AM – 7pm, Monday through Friday; Saturday 10am – 2pm
