Position Overview:

As a Co-op Systems Engineer you will work in a team-based environment to develop Electro-Optical (EO) systems that operate in space environments. The Co-op Systems Engineer will be expected to work with experienced Systems Engineers to manage requirements, provide technical oversight for internal and subcontracted designs, and formal verification of subassemblies.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop specifications and interface control documents
  • Evaluate the work and results from the technical team to provide feedback and direction
  • Develop and guide verification including a requirements verification matrix, verification plans, test requirements, test scripts, and preparation of sell-off materials to demonstrate compliance
  • Communicate with the program office, functional management, and technical team members to ensure proper program execution and early issue and risk identification
  • Document statement of work (SOW) and performance specifications for subcontracted items

Education Requirements:

The Co-op must be working towards a Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, physics, or related field.

Experience Required:

  • Familiarity with Field Programmable Gate Arrays (FPGA), digital and analog electrical designs, and embedded processors
  • Firmware and software development (e.g., VHDL, C, C++, Python, MatLab)
  • Troubleshooting and root cause analysis
  • Proficient written communication skills including technical writing
  • Proficient verbal skills including technical presentations with the ability and technical confidence to brief a variety of internal and external customers

EHS/Environmental Requirements:

  • Able to lift/move computer and printer equipment

This position requires the incumbent to access export-controlled information. If you are not a US Person, any offer is contingent upon the Company’s ability to obtain a special license granting you access. This could take several months.
