Superintendent
Job Description
- Manages the day to day activity of staff. Provides feedback on performance appraisals.
- Manages the development and training of staff.
- Approves paid time off requests (PTO) and ensures human resources policies are followed.
- Monitors project costs, budget, schedule, quality, and productivity.
=Takes corrective action where necessary.
- Maintains continuous, open communication with the project management team, client representative and subcontractor.
- Reports on progress, concerns, and listens and responds to concerns of others.
- Maintains liaison with engineering, estimating, and planning to ensure work complies with drawings, specifications, and schedule.
- Monitors and suggests solutions to construction problems or design flaws as work is in progress.
- Orders and schedules delivery of material and equipment, reviewing requisitions and purchase orders for correctness and cost savings.
- Performs other duties as required.
- Performs quality control inspections and reviews plans and specifications for quality assurance.
- Pulls construction permits; codes invoices for job costing; prepares progress reports; general project related paperwork.
Minimum Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- 8 years of related experience.
- Domestic and/or international travel may be required. The frequency of travel is contingent on specific duties, responsibilities, and the essential functions of the position, which may vary depending on workload and project demands.
- Equivalent additional directly related experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.

Skills and Abilities
- Expert knowledge of construction disciplines, cost control, scheduling, safety regulations, etc.
- Excellent ability to read and interpret blueprints and engineering drawings.
- Excellent oral and written communications skills.
- Excellent planning and organizational skills.
- Good Microsoft Word and Excel skill.
