This position is eligible for partial remote work at the present time. The arrangement may be delayed for training or other job acclimation purposes and remains subject to change.

Your Responsibilities

 

As a Senior Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) located in Chicago, IL, you will:

 

  • Build the solutions to improve the availability, scalability, latency, and efficiency for John Deere’s eCommerce platform
  • Provide sustainable incident response, blameless postmortems, and production improvements
  • Engage in all aspects of teams work of building out automation for John Deere’s Ecommerce applications to help improve reliability and supportability
  • Collaborate with other team members on technical practices and industry standards such as SOLID principles, 12 Factor App, adherence to Test Driven Development (TDD) and enabling CI/CD and DevSecOps practices across eCommerce domain teams

What Skills You Need

 

  • 5 + years of experience with Java, Python, or NodeJS
  • 3 + years of experience with APIs, Databases, Infrastructure and Public Cloud
  • 2 + years of experience with Monitoring Tools (App dynamics, Kibana, Prometheus or NewRelic)
  • 2 + years of experience with CI/CD pipeline development using GitHub or Jenkins
  • 2 + years of experience with Test-Driven Development (TDD) or Test-Driven Infrastructure (TDI)
  • 2+ years of experience with Version Control
  • 1+ years of experience with provisioning and maintaining distributed systems using Kubernetes and Containerization

What Make You Stand Out

 

  • 2+ years of experience with Data Analytics or UX
  • 2+ years of experience with AWS
  • 1 + years of experience with Agile/Scrum
  • 1+ years of experience with Lean Service Management
  • AWS Certification(s)

Education

 

Ideally you will have a degree or equivalent related work experience in the following:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related engineering degree
