Your Responsibilities
As a Staff Platform Engineer for platform domain team in growing eCommerce organization at John Deere located in Chicago IL, you will…
- Provide the technical leadership, operate within an agile team and participate in all aspects of teams work of building out John Deere’s Ecommerce application infrastructure and self-service capabilities to improve the developer experience
- Help develop, practice and promote “platform engineering” discipline across multiple Ecommerce teams with focus on well-architected principles of Availability, Scalability, Security, Reliability, Performance, Cost, Sustainability
- Pair, Mentor and Coach team members across Ecommerce teams on “Platform Thinking” and DevSecOps practices to ensure quality deliverable, optimal solutions and facilitation of cross pollination of knowledge.
- Leverage Cloud Computing, Analytics and Integration patterns to help create a Data driven and scalable Environment to support Ecommerce.
What Skills You Need
- 8+ yrs experience in developing and delivering applications in the AWS Cloud, leveraging DevSecOps and lean development principles such as Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery
- 6+ yrs experience with following AWS services: VPC, Route53, CloudFront, WAF WebACL, CloudWatch, EKS + Fargate, EC2, Lambda, AppMesh, MSK, AmazonMQ, SQS, S3, RDS (Aurora postgres),ELK, ECR, RedShift, DMS, Airflow, ElastiCache
- 5 + yrs experience of integration of security practices, tools and frameworks in DevOps framework
- 5+ yrs experience with Micro services Architecture and Event-driven microservices
- 4+ yrs experience in developing and delivering applications using container technologies (Docker, Kubernetes, etc.)
- 3+ yrs experience in developing and delivering Infrastructure as Code(IaC) using tools and frameworks like Terraform and Terragrunt
- 3+ yrs experience in TDD(test-driven development)/TDI(test-driven infrastructure)
What Makes You Stand Out
- 3+ yrs expertise in at least 1 of the following programming languages: Python,Java,NodeJS,Go
- 2+ yrs Experience providing technical leadership, coaching and mentoring to team members
- 2+ yrsExperience collaborating with multiple business stakeholders to provide information technology solution.
- 2 yrs or more years of working experience with agile teams in an Agile environment.
- SAP hybris commerce platform experience.
Education
Ideally you will have a degree or equivalent related work experience in the following:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/Engineering or related field
