Below is the pay range for this position that we reasonably expect to pay. Individual compensation is based on various factors including experience, education, skillset, and other relevant qualifications. This range is for the North Carolina location and may be adjusted to the labor market in other geographic areas.
Anticipated Hiring Range for a Programmer is $80,000-$100,000
Design, develop, and maintain data tracking, management, analysis, and visualization pipelines for plant breeding activities
Collaborate with breeding, bioinformatics and quantitative genetics teams to enhance existing data management pipelines and streamline integration methodologies for greater efficiency.
Develop and maintain standard operating procedures and software documentation, including technical specifications, user manuals, and help guides
Ensure optimal functionality of software by consistently maintaining and updating them
Safeguard company information, including valuable trade secrets
Ensure company handbook, rules, guidelines and procedures and safety policies are followed
Other duties as assigned
Bachelors in biology, plant breeding, genetics, computer science or related field with 2+ years of experience desired
Experience with SQL, data management systems, REST APIs, and data visualization software
Proficiency with Amazon Web Services or Google Cloud Services, and Docker containers is advantageous
Experience with Excel VBA or GoogleSheet app scripts is a plus
Strong organizational and project management skills
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen eye for detail
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work collaboratively in a diverse team environment
