Job Summary/Basic Functions

An EKU Model Paraeducator II, under the direction of certified educators, performs a variety of skilled instructional functions pertaining to specific student skill development of both special needs and non-identified pupils. Through intense learning experiences, student supervision and academic performance documentation, the Paraeducator assists educators daily in support K-12 student growth, including independent classroom management and instructional services, and pre-service learning for EKU students. Paraeducators must meet job description requirements, including physical, such as standing, walking and being able to lift up to 40 pounds.

Licensure & Certifications: Bachelor’s degree

Preferred Qualifications:

At least one year of experience working with youth in an organized setting supplemented with some instructional experience in a classroom environment service children and parents, preferably inclusive of special needs and multicultural students.
