Job Summary/Basic Functions

The position will manage and operate the library in accordance with the goals and strategic plan of the school, as well as design and implement innovative and research-based instruction for students in a k-12 laboratory school environment. In addition to providing daily instruction, the teacher will also be responsible for general duties of student supervision, as well as mentoring and instruction of university pre-service teachers.

Minimum Qualifications

Education: Master’s degree with certification in library/media specialist

Experience:

Licensure & Certifications: Kentucky certification for library/media specialist

Preferred Qualifications:

Successful experience as a teacher and library/media specialist.

Job Duties:

• 40% – Design and implement innovative and research-based instruction for students in a laboratory school environment – (Essential)
• 10% – Provide student supervision, as well as mentoring and instruction of university pre-service teachers. – (Essential)
• 10% – Maintain required trainings, professional development and promotion and tenure responsibilities. – (Essential)
• 40% – Ensure effective and efficient set-up and operation of the Model library in accordance with best practices and Model and EKU goals, strategic plans, policies and procedures. – (Essential)
