The Impact You’ll Make in this Role

As a Business Supply Chain (BSC) Engineer, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:

Maintaining awareness of customer needs and industry trends and translate those into measurable specifications and test methods for product development and manufacturing.
Supporting successful NPI scale up and launch of new products with capacity, capability, and cost.
Using Lean, Six Sigma and Value stream tools to drive improvements.
Performing capability assessments and cost estimates for new opportunities.
Driving process development, recommend new equipment and modification to support cost improvements and new product introductions.
Providing manufacturing technical support for local and global manufacturing of the businesses products by driving critical to business cost, product yield, and customer quality projects.
Other duties as assigned.

Your Skills and Expertise
To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree or higher in a science or engineering discipline (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution.
Three (3) years of combined experience in manufacturing, product or process development in a private, public, government or military environment

Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:

Technical experience in polymer film extrusion, web handling, microreplication, clean coating, lamination, slitting, rotary die converting, and/or punch press converting
Six Sigma Green Belt Certification
Minimum of three (3) years of experience utilizing statistical tools in problem solving is preferred
Minimum of three (3) years of experience on working in a manufacturing environment is preferred
Minimum of three (3) years on New Product Development and Commercialization Teams is preferred

Work location: Hybrid Eligible (Job Duties allow for some remote work but require travel to 3M Center, MN at least 3 days per week)

Travel: May include up to 25% domestic/international

Relocation Assistance: May be authorized

Must be legally authorized to work in country of employment without sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H1B status).

Applicable to US Applicants Only:The expected compensation range for this position is $119,076 – $145,537, which includes base pay plus variable incentive pay, if eligible. This range represents a good faith estimate for this position.
