Wide Horizons For Children, Inc. is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to the well-being of vulnerable and orphaned children worldwide.

Location: Hybrid role with a combination of work from home and work in our office in Waltham, MA. We offer a flexible, family-friendly work environment and excellent benefits.

The Position:

This role interacts with all areas of Wide Horizons For Children — the Program teams (Family Preservation, Orphan Care and Adoption), the Development team, and admin staff — and a variety of external consultants. In addition, as part of the Child Sponsorship responsibilities, this role interacts with those child sponsors who are not under the care of one of the Major Gift Officers.

Marketing Responsibilities: 50% of role

  • Support the marketing team with planning, implementing, and monitoring marketing campaigns
  • Keep all projects on schedule, ensuring timely reminders for projects contributors, as required
  • Assist with the production of marketing and event materials
  • Provide administrative and project support for a variety of marketing programs
  • Compile performance reports — email marketing, campaign analytics

Child Sponsorship Responsibilities: 50% of role

Daily tasks:

  • Ensure all comms that go out are in line with WHFC brand and agreed Child Sponsorship messaging
  • Ensure admin happens in a timely and professional manner — billing, sharing documentation with sponsors, etc.
  • Input relevant info into database
  • Liaison between marketing, fundraising and programming team in US and on the ground

Weekly tasks:

  • Add new, unmatched kids to website
  • Curate new content — photo and video, mostly — and makes it available to others via photo and video repositories (Flickr, Vimeo)

Monthly tasks:

  • Provide stories for marketing and development teams

Quarterly tasks:

  • Provide impact data to marketing and development team

Annual tasks:

  • Provide calendar and fiscal year impact data to marketing and development team

Qualifications/Skills:

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • High level of organization and attention to detail

  • Understanding of basic business and marketing concepts

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • High School diploma
  • Associate or bachelor’s degree in marketing, business or a related field
  • 2-3 years of experience in marketing area (communications, graphic design, market research, digital marketing, etc.)
  • High proficiency with Microsoft Office (Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, Microsoft PowerPoint, Microsoft Outlook)
  • Demonstrated experience with website development/management, especially WordPress
  • Adept at learning new tech platforms — e.g. email marketing, lead conversion
  • Familiar with email marketing and website analytics (SEO and SEM) is preferred
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite (Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Premiere, etc.) is preferred
  • Digital photography and video editing experience is preferred
