Kelly® Engineering is seeking an experienced Engineering Design Technician for a contract-to-permanent opportunity with a global healthcare leader in Abbott Park, IL! Pay Rate:
$35.00 – $42.00 per hour

Overview:

The Engineering Design Technician will be responsible for reading and interpreting mechanical, electrical, plumbing (MEP), and processed piping drawings. They must also be able to conduct field walk-downs, translate field observations to as-built drawings, and coordinate with external engineering and architectural firms. The role requires proficiency in AutoCAD and involves supporting the creation of construction packages for small in-house projects, as well as validating and producing drawings for FDA compliance.

The ideal candidate is an Engineering Design Technician with 2-5 years of MEP experience, proficiency in AutoCAD, and excellent communication skills to coordinate with external firms. They should be capable of conducting field walk-downs, creating as-built drawings, and supporting small in-house design projects. This is a 6+ month contract opportunity with the potential of converting to permanent employment.

Minimum Qualifications:

MEP Experience: 2-5 years of experience in mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and processed piping.
AutoCAD Proficiency: Strong skills in AutoCAD are essential.
Field Experience: Ability to perform field walk-downs and translate observations to as-built drawings.
Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to coordinate with outside engineering and architectural firms.
Design Capability: Ability to support small in-house design projects.
Validation Drawings: Experience in producing validation drawings for FDA compliance.

Preferred Skills:

Experience with Revit is highly desired, though not required.
Previous experience with an engineering service provider preferred
Knowledge of process piping systems, including compressed air, nitrogen, and water systems.
Experience in the pharmaceutical or medical device industry is considered a plus.
