DevOps has one of the best programs to learn and contribute to the inner workings of Ford Pro Intelligence Platforms. As a DevOps Engineer, this position is a combination of day-to-day support operations duties and longer term project work to improve the platform. The ideal candidates are team players with a strong desire to troubleshoot issues with a customer focus.
What you’ll be able to do:
- Developing and improving CI/CD pipelines, deploying and maintaining cloud infrastructure using infrastructure-as-code, enforcing good security policy and remediating vulnerabilities, enabling software development teams to work more efficiently, and supporting day to day operations of the Ford Pro Intelligence platform.
- Designing and building automation solutions with cloud technologies.
The minimum requirements we seek:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related field, or a combination of education and equivalent experience.
- 3 + years of experience with modern programming languages such as Java, Groovy, Python, Kotlin, JavaScript, or C#
- 3 + years of experience with with cloud platforms such as GCP, Azure, or AWS and CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, Tekton.
- 3 + years of experience with Linux system administration including Bash, c ontainerization tools such as Docker, Kubernetes, or OpenShift, and e xperience with Version Control Systems such as Git, CVS, or SVN
Our preferred qualifications:
- M asters degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related field
- 2+ years Infrastructure experience (GCP preferred) in one or more areas of public cloud or on-premise computing: Database, Storage, Network, Cloud-based development
- Experience with observability platforms such as Splunk, Prometheus, Grafana, or DataDog
- Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code with tools such as Terraform, Ansible, Chef, or Puppet
- Experience with project tracking tools such as Jira or Rally
- Endless desire to learn and motivated to challenge the status quo
- Innovative thought leader with strong analytical and problem resolution skills
- Ability to solve complex problems across multiple cloud services and applications
- Strong advocate for DevOps mindset and culture, collaboration, flexibility, and cross domain knowledge
- Experience with agile software development (i.e. Scrum or Kanban)
- Collaborate with other developers and service teams to determine/implement the best solution
- Ability to plan, prioritize, and support multiple concurrent projects/tasks
- Works as a team player
- Ability to lead and teach others
- Strong oral and written communication skills
