This position is located in Alamosa, Colorado, United States of America. Relocation Assistance will be provided from Flint Healthcare
TN Visa and Green Card Visa Sponsorship is included as part of this position and an additional signing bonus of up to $11,000 USD.This role requires a 3 year commitment.

To be considered you’ll need:
Successfully passed NCLEX exam
A registered nurse (RN) license in the United States or Canada
Graduation from a basic educational program in professional nursing.
A minimum of one (1) year Medical Surgical or Obstetrics (OB) nursing experience is preferred. However, new graduates will be considered and facility is willing to train.
Experienced and comfortable working with ventilators and patients with tracheostomy
Advanced critical thinking skills and the ability to recognize when a patient status changes and/or deteriorates

Schedule: 12 hour shifts, rotating shifts, holidays and week-ends as scheduled.

Job Description
San Luis Valley Health is seeking Registered Nurses to join our OB Department! The RN will provide nursing care to all patients in the respective unit, demonstrating the ability to triage assess patients needs to ensure adequate care and nursing standards are met, observes and initiates appropriate nursing treatments, and reports symptoms and conditions of patients to medical staff. In addition, the RN will perform tasks such as assisting with invasive procedures, administering medications, documenting, and assisting other staff members on the team.
What You’ll Need:
At minimum, Associates degree in nursing. BSN is preferred.
Current active US or Canadian Registered Nurse license. (Assistance for license transfer is included by Flint Healthcare, Inc.)
At minimum, current AHA and BLS Certification, required upon hire.
RN’s in OB may require certifications such as ACLS, PALS, Neonatal Resuscitation Program certification, etc. (can be obtain within 6 months of hire)
What You’ll Do:
Renders nursing care to patients within an assigned unit or cross-trained unit.
Observes and reports symptoms and conditions of patients
Takes and records temperatures, respiration and pulse.
Administers medications, sets up treatment trays, prepares instruments and other equipment per protocol.
Assists physician with treatment.
Assists with administering specialized therapy.
Maintains records reflection patients’ conditions, medication and treatment.
Bathes and feeds acutely ill patients with the assistance of CNA/PCT.
Essential Duties, Functions and Responsibilities:
Explains procedures and treatments to patient to gain cooperation, understanding, and allay apprehension.
Administers prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with approved nursing techniques.
Prepares equipment and aids Physician during treatment and examination of patient when able.
Maintains awareness of comfort and safety needs of patient.
Observes patient, records significant conditions and reactions, and notifies Physician of patient’s condition and reaction to drugs, treatments, and significant incidents.
Takes temperature, pulse, blood pressure, and other vital signs to detect deviations from normal and assess condition of patient.
Responds to all situations based upon nursing standards, policies, procedures, and protocol.
Documents nursing history and physical assessment for assigned patients.
Initiates a patient education plan according to the individualized needs of the patient, as prescribed by Physician and/or hospital policy including patient and family instruction
Makes beds, bathes and feeds patient with the assistance of CNA.
Participates in department or unit quality improvement activities.
Attends a minimum of 100% mandatory Skills Day and 75% staff meeting.
She/he is responsible for supervising subordinates in performing their duties, and for orientation and teaching of new employees in the clinical setting with the assistance of the nursing education department. She/he is responsible with the assistance of the nursing education department for teaching personnel in the area of new techniques and changes in policy.
When nursing students are in the clinical setting, he/she participates in the clinical experience.
