Job Summary/Basic Functions
To assist the Director of Cross Country and Track and Field in the administration of a Division I intercollegiate men’s and women’s Track and Field and Cross Country program that complies with the mission, guidelines, rules and regulations of the University, the ASUN, and the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA). More specifically, this person is responsible for, but not limited to, coaching, recruiting, monitoring student-athlete academic progress, interacting with internal and external constituents, administration of camps/clinics, and other duties as assigned by the Director, sport administrator and/or Director of Athletics.
Minimum Qualifications
Education:
Experience: Three years of related work experience
Licensure & Certifications:
Preferred Qualifications:
Master’s degree and/or Five years or more of experience coaching track/cross country at the NCAA Division I level or equivalent Experience as a track and field/cross country student-athlete; experience at the NCAA Division I level preferred
Job Duties:
- 30% – Recruiting future student-athletes to EKU; Evaluating potential student-athletes; Appearing at high school events and coaching clinics – (Essential)
- 30% – Coaching-Working with student-athletes in a group setting as well as individual workouts; Developing training plans; Working with other coaches to develop and implement training for student-athletes – (Essential)
- 10% – Preparing and guiding student-athletes at competitions – (Essential)
- 10% – Working on compliance and academic issues related to student-athletes – (Essential)
- 20% – Administrative and other duties as assigned – (Essential)
