About the College of Business Human Resources

The College of Business Human Resources team supports the recruiting and hiring, on-boarding, and off-boarding, training and development, employee relations, leaves, compensation and staffing, reward & recognition, visa tracking and processing, student employment, payroll, and policy administration for approximately 345 staff, 125 union, 230 academics, 75 visiting academics, 100 temporary employees, and 700 student employees.

The Opportunity

This position will serve the college HR team and the Associate Dean of Staff & Academic Administration in project management and support functions focusing on events and communication; on-boarding and off-boarding support for temporary staff and visiting academic populations; budget monitoring and prep; shared folder, template letter, and personnel folder maintenance; calendar, travel, and meeting support; and special projects and reporting. High level of initiative, skill, judgement, and confidentiality required.

This is a great role for anyone with strong administrative skills who is interested in the Human Resources field.


Required Qualifications

  • Associates degree and 3-4 years of relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and formal training.
  • Strong event planning experience.
  • Experience writing or putting newsletters together as well as Intranet or website creation and maintenance.
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and follow-through.
  • Experience with electronic calendar management and travel arrangements.
  • Strong computer and technical skills – MS Office suite, Zoom.
  • Ability to multi-task and take direction from multiple people.
  • Experience in and/or demonstrated commitment to supporting diversity, equity, access, inclusion, and wellbeing.
  • Experience working directly with people from diverse racial, ethnic, and socioeconomic backgrounds.
  • Experience incorporating the perspectives of multiple communities, including communities of color.
  • Passionate about working in an organization that values and promotes diversity, equity, inclusion, anti-racism, and wellbeing.
  • Possess a high level of confidentiality.

This position is located in Ithaca, New York and will provide hybrid work flexibility.
