This position may be located in Sioux Falls, SD or Minneapolis, MN per the hiring manager’s discretion. This may be dependent on the successful candidate’s background, experience, and proficiency.


Your Responsibilities


As a Tillage Product Specialist, for John Deere Des Moines Works located in Sioux Falls, SD or Minneapolis, MN, you will…

  • Be a field-based product expert working with dealers, customers, and the region field teams in Minnesota, South Dakota, and North Dakota to grow the tillage business
  • Lead training and field demonstrations to advance dealer sales and service team confidence and capabilities in promoting the value of John Deere Tillage systems
  • Deliver onsite expertise on tillage products and the unique agronomic value they provide
  • Support field team and sales department leads in developing and executing a tillage marketing plan to achieve sales goals
  • Provide the voice of the customer to influence portfolio plans, product positioning, and customer value messaging
  • Support competitive benchmarking and associated marketing material

What Skills You Need


  • Knowledge of Corn and Soy Production Systems and equipment with the ability to develop deep expertise
  • Willingness to travel a specified territory and work unstructured hours based on seasonal conditions
  • Verbal communication skills to assess customer needs and respond appropriately
  • Written communication and creative skills to manage and create effective sales messages/tools
  • Proven ability to achieve results based on strong interpersonal skills
  • Ability and willingness to travel up to 75% of the time during certain seasons


What Makes You Stand Out


  • 3 or more years of Tractor/Tillage operation experience
  • 3 or more years of experience working with dealers
  • 3 or more years of experience working with customers
  • Knowledge of Ag products, customers segments, markets, and competitors




Ideally you will have a degree or equivalent related work experience in the following:

  • Bachelor’s degree in an Agricultural, Business, Marketing, or Engineering discipline
