Position Summary
This position is under the general supervision of the Director of the Counseling & Testing Center (CTC). The Counselor/Psychologist, Training Coordinator will function as a strong generalist conducting mental health assessments (intakes), urgent care (crisis) assessments, triage assessments and professional counseling services (including individual, couples, group). Other responsibilities include referral, consultation, in-service training, and outreach, as well as crisis intervention services and public relations services to campus and community members as appropriate. They will also participate in staff, student affairs, and university committees. Similar to all staff at the CTC, the clinician will work to integrate the ideals and goals of inclusive excellence in all aforementioned activities.
The Counselor/Psychologist, Training Coordinator assumes primary leadership for developing and coordinating all aspects of the training of graduate level practicum students and psychology interns in the Counseling and Testing Center. This includes candidate selection, developing training curriculum, chairing the CTC training committee, coordinating the training of clinical skills and onboarding for trainees, and being a liaison with local/regional graduate training programs. This position will provide primary supervision to trainees as well as clinical staff under training licenses and will coordinate the consultation group for any CTC clinical supervisors. Finally, this position will work in partnership with the CTC clinical staff to identify and coordinate our in-house training program, with particular attention to trainings aligned with the center’s values of compassion, collaboration, inclusion, and access. Overall, the coordinator ensures that the clinical services provided by trainees are appropriate and that training needs are attended to.

Required Qualifications
Master’s degree in clinical or community counseling, clinical or counseling psychology, social work, or related field consistent with practice requirements in the WI Professional Counselor Section (MPSW 14.01).
Currently independently licensed in Wisconsin as a Psychologist, LPC, LCSW, or LMFT, or independently licensed in another state and eligible to apply for a WI license by reciprocity.
Five (5) or more years of experience as a licensed mental health professional (if licensed as LPC), or possesses the equivalent necessary to provide clinical supervision toward state licensure for counselors in training.
Experience providing supervision to trainees in a counseling setting. The CTC is committed to equity and inclusion and seeks mental health clinicians who are dedicated to ongoing learning and integrating a multicultural perspective into all aspects of their work.
Preferred Qualifications
Doctoral degree (PhD or PsyD) from an APA-accredited psychology program and licensed as a Psychologist.
Experience conducting outreach programming, presentations, training, and/or workshops relevant to college students.
Significant experience conducting brief therapy with emerging adults for a wide range of presenting concerns. Experience with solution-focused (SFBT) and other brief treatment models is desired.
Demonstrated ability to interact effectively with persons of diverse backgrounds, including but not limited to persons identifying as: first generation, low income, person of color, LGB, transgender, nonbinary, and/or veteran. Preference will be given to those candidates who have experience working with culturally, racially, and diagnostically diverse college students.
Commitment to providing group counseling (psychoeducational/skills, support, and therapy groups).
Significant experience with crisis intervention and risk assessment.
Experience with Electronic Health Records and computer applications used for telehealth services.

Working conditions and environment
Office Setting
Typical office hours (7:45am-4:30pm). Evening hours may be required as we expand our services (e.g., one evening/week), with a schedule adjustment made to maintain an average of 40 hours/week onsite. While no after-hours crisis coverage is required, our clinical staff members occasionally provide evening outreach programming and may be called in for a campus crisis response.
Expectations are to provide a combination of in-person and telehealth counseling services.
Miscellaneous Information
The Counselor/Psychologist, Training Coordinator works full-time between August and May, and part-time in June and July, primarily providing clinical services during the summer months.
