Job Description:
Job Summary:
Looking for a self-motivated postdoctoral fellow to join the Center for Psychiatric Genetics of NorthShore University HealthSystem (NUH), academically affiliated with the University of Chicago. This position will be reporting to a PI/Supervisor who is a Professor at the University of Chicago. The lab’s research focus is on using patient-specific induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSC)-derived neurons and brain organoids models to study the molecular and neurobiological basis of neuropsychiatric and neurodegenerative disorders (Forrest MP. et a., Cell Stem Cell. 2017; Zhang S. et al., Science. 2020; Kozlova A. et al., Am J Hum Genet 2022 ). The laboratory work will involve iPSC neural modeling, single cell RNA-seq and ATAC-seq, CRISPR/Cas9 gene editing, CRISPRi/a for gene perturbation, scaled morphological and electrophysiological analyses of neurons and brain organoids. The candidate will preferentially perform both experimental and computational work with the assistance of other research associates/assistants, but focusing on lab or computation would also be acceptable. For a candidate focusing on computation, he/she is expected to implement and/or develop computation tools for analyzing multi-omics (scRNA-seq/ATAC-seq, genomics, lipidomics, etc.) data to understand the causal genes/networks of neuropsychiatric and neurodegenerative disorders. This position reports directly to the PI. This is a full-time position and is benefits eligible.
Essential Job Functions:
