Senior CADD Drafter

CDM Smith, a multi-national design engineering and construction firm, are seeking a Senior CADD Drafter who will have the opportunity to expand your career as part of a collaborative multidisciplinary team of technical experts working on challenging projects in Water, Environment, Transportation, Energy and Facilities for federal, state, municipal, industrial, and private sector clients.
As a member of this team, you will contribute to CDM Smith’s mission by: 
Working on civil engineering infrastructure projects involving tunneling, underground construction, dams and levees, geothermal well and yard piping systems, geotechnical engineering reports and designs for foundations, support of excavation, geo-environmental engineering projects such as slurry walls, soil solidification and stabilization, and sediment remediation.
 Performing civil site design and site grading design for project types described above and clients in the city and state, federal, industrial and utilities markets.
 Planning, scheduling, conducting, or coordinating detailed phases of work for parts of major civil engineering projects with other engineering disciplines including geotechnical, structural, mechanical and process.
 Preparing plan drawings for projects using CADD. Drawings could include report figures, design engineering drawings, plan and profile drawings for pipelines and tunnels, dam and levee improvements, as-built drawings and other related documents. 
Coordinating various technical aspects of work with project engineering teams (Project Managers, Project Technical Leaders, and Civil and geotechnical discipline task managers). 
Serving as a mentor and technical resource to junior engineers.
 Coordinating work with other engineers and groups within CDM Smith. 
Supporting proposal preparation in scoping and estimating work. 
Performs other duties as required.

Excellent communication skills with strict attention to detail. Demonstrated ability to be a team player and contributor to the overall team. Possesses an advanced working knowledge of core CADD applications (such as AutoCAD, Revitt and/or MicroStation). Ability to apply advanced CADD drafting and/or fundamental design techniques in accordance with the firm’s and industry standards and codes. Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office for design related tasks and discipline specific design/analysis software primarily within the CADD environment.
