Depending on business needs, this role may perform a combination of some or all of the following duties. Duties, responsibilities, and activities may change, or new ones may be assigned at any time with or without notice.</p><ul><li>Collaborate with physicists and across electrical, software, and opto-mechanical engineering domains to deliver optimal embedded system solutions for quantum applications.</li><li>Develop testable, performant, and scalable RTL using SpinalHDL.</li><li>Support hands on tuning and troubleshooting in laboratory and test bench environments</li><li>Architect processing chains with supporting analytical models to ensure that critical design requirements are met.</li><li>Embrace best modern software engineering practices to ensure robustness and maintainability and facilitate collaboration. This includes leveraging revision control, CI pipelines, static analysis tools, and automated build pipelines.</li><li>Participate in design, code, and data reviews.</li></ul><h3>Requirements</h3><h4>REQUIREMENTS</h4><ul><li>Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science or related field and a minimum of 8 years prior work experience.</li><li>Expertise in working with industry standard hardware descriptive languages (Verilog, System Verilog, or VHDL)</li><li>Comfortable working in a Linux development environment and working with standard scripting languages (Python, bash)</li><li>Good verbal and written communication skills, able to effectively share information with technical and non-technical staff</li><li>Good collaboration skills, able to work in a team environment where engagement and participation are an expected part of successful job performance</li><li>Skilled in typical software engineering disciplines: testing, revision control (git), error-handling, readability, documentation, general code health, etc.</li><li>Desire to constantly improve and learn inside and outside of expertise</li></ul><h4>PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:</h4><ul><li>Expertise working with AMD Xilinx programmable logic devices (especially Zynq Ultrascale+ MPSoC).</li><li>Experience developing RTL in high level functional languages (especially Scala / SpinalHDL)</li><li>Expertise in developing HDL for one or more of the following applications:</li></ul><ul><li>RF waveform synthesis and processing</li><li>Modern closed-loop control systems (e.g. state space controllers)</li><li>Image processing</li><li>Matrix arithmetic accelerators</li></ul><ul><li>Familiarity with Embedded Linux OS distribution builds (nix, Yocto, or Buildroot)</li><li>Experience working with compiled languages for Linux and baremetal targets (especially Rust)</li><li>Experience leading small technical teams or projects</li></ul><h3>Benefits</h3><p>The targeted salary range for this role is <strong>$131,000</strong> to <strong>$175,000</strong> on an annualized basis plus eligibility to participate in our annual incentive plan.</p><p>_In addition to your base compensation, we offer a generous_ _<strong>Total Rewards</strong>_ _program which includes:_</p><ul><li>100% company paid Employee coverage for Medical, Dental, Vision, and Short/Long Term Disability insurance programs</li><li>Employer funded Health Savings Account</li><li>Unlimited Paid Time Off</li><li>401(k) Matching Programs</li><li>Company paid Life and AD&D Insurance</li><li>Flexible Healthcare Savings Account</li><li>Paid FMLA Leave</li><li>Paid Maternity/Paternity Leave</li><li>Employer Assistance Program</li><li>Student Loan Repayment</li></ul><p><strong>Equal Opportunity</strong></p><p>Here you have freedom to embrace your whole self: who you love, your gender identity and expression, skin color, age, appearance, disability, neurodiversity, DNA, military/veteran status, citizenship, and other factors that make up who you are.
