The Impact You’ll Make in this Role
As a Product Engineering Specialist, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:
Maintaining the design of commercialized orthodontic products within the Dental Solutions Business in compliance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and other regulatory requirements
Processing polymeric materials into high performance multilayers films, laboratory testing to understand & optimize key functional attributes, and setting specifications for quality control
Collaborating with internal cross-functional global teams composed of members from manufacturing, quality, regulatory, application engineering, business, and clinical as well as external material suppliers to ensure product continuity
Utilizing available resources and experts to drive impactful product design changes to existing commercialized projects to maximize customer satisfaction and promote business success
Lead, execute, and oversee change management as it relates to product design changes driven by product performance, process and quality improvement, supply changes, regulatory requirements, and cost reduction through Product & Process Understanding (PPU) efforts
Integrating new products into sustained operations by consulting with New Project Introduction (NPI) teams during Scale Up through design ownership transfer
Supporting day-to-day production needs for both Pilot Plant in St Paul and Manufacturing plants
Your Skills and Expertise
To set you up for success in this role from day one, Solventum requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree or higher AND six(6) years of (combined experience researching, developing, supporting and/or maintaining commercialized products in a private, public, government or military environment)
AND
In addition to the above requirements, the following are also required:
3 years of experience with the effective execution of change management, root cause analysis, issue resolution and/or managing corrective and preventative actions
3 years of experience with test method development, material property data collection and/or setting specifications and translating into product requirements
Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:
[Master’s] degree in [Chemistry/Polymers Science/Chemical Engineering/Materials Science or related disciplines] from an accredited institution
Five (5) years of [experience in product and/or manufacturing experience in the medical device industry and/or medical device Quality Management Systems (QMS)] in a private, public, government or military environment
Experience utilizing project management techniques to lead cross functional teams in projects that drive improvement and proven results
Experience collaborating with laboratory, quality and/or manufacturing colleagues
Statistical knowledge and practice [e.g., Design of Experiments (DOE), sampling, Statistical Process Control (SPC), Product & Process Understanding (PPU), Lean Six Sigma, etc.]

Onsite Maplewood, MN (4 days per week)
Travel: May include up to 10% domestic

Applicable to US Applicants Only:The expected compensation range for this position is $137,439 – $167,981, which includes base pay plus variable incentive pay, if eligible. This range represents a good faith estimate for this position. The specific compensation offered to a candidate may vary based on factors including, but not limited to, the candidate’s relevant knowledge, training, skills, work location, and/or experience.
