Job Summary/Basic Functions
The Experiential Learning Coordinator position engages and supports apprenticeship students and coordinates exceptional learning experiences for students enrolled in courses within the Department of Applied Human Sciences. The Coordinator understands and articulates campus programs, policies, and procedures and helps develop strategies to address academic persistence and completion. Additionally, the Coordinator manages the day-to-day operation of experiential learning spaces. The Coordinator position is a twelve-month position reporting to the Department Chair, Applied Human Sciences.
Minimum Qualifications
Education: Completion of bachelor’s degree in either Family & Consumer Sciences Education, Child & Family Studies, Food and Nutrition or related field.
Experience: One year related experience required.

Job Duties:
- 80% – Experiential Learning Laboratory Supervision – Coordinate and supervise the general operation of experiential laboratory spaces to provide a wide variety of learning experiences. – Oversee the regular preventive maintenance/repair of equipment. – Operate equipment and related equipment as needed. – Manage reservations for Cafe Burrier. – Ensure appropriate use of department budget to support experiential learning. – Procurement of food, equipment, fabric, and other laboratory needs to ensure adequate learning. – Supervise graduate assistants and student workers. – Communicates and collaborates regularly with faculty and staff to support students. – Be available to work evenings and weekends when needed. – Supports the mission, vision, and values of the Department, College, and University. – (Essential)
- 15% – Recruitment, Retention and Student Success – Assist the department in meeting its goals related to student diversity, engagement, persistence, retention, and graduation. – Build relationships with local and regional high schools to plan department tours and recruiting events. – Assist in evaluating student success and providing strategies for improving outcome measures. – Assist faculty in building interprofessional collaborations across campus and within the community. – Support student co-op experiences and completion of hours. – (Essential)
- 5% – Performs other duties as assigned which support the purpose and initiatives of the Department. – (Essential)
