The Impact You’ll Make in this Role

As a Manufacturing Engineer, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:

Initiating, identifying, recommending, and leading projects in the manufacturing area of responsibility to improve safety, quality, service, cycle time, and cost (productivity) and becoming the subject matter expert (SME)
Developing process expertise becoming the subject matter expert (SME) for the manufacturing processes in the area of responsibility and collaborating, mentoring with team members as a senior manufacturing engineer
Leading improvement projects and problem-solving events to determine root causes, proactively communicating project direction and status to appropriate personnel
Monitoring and improving manufacturing operations using Lean Six Sigma tools and methodology (design of experiments, statistical process control, lean management system, kaizens, DMAIC)
Working closely with production and maintenance teams to perform troubleshooting activities and resolve equipment/downtime issues

Your Skills and Expertise

To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree or higher in a Science or Engineering discipline from an accredited institution (completed and verified prior to start) AND seven (7) years of manufacturing experience in a private, public, government or military environment

Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:

Master’s degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering or related discipline (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution
Process experience across several technologies: filtration membrane pleating, web handling and converting, filtration cartridge assembly and welding (ultrasonic, spin, IR), automation, robotics, and vision systems
Proven manufacturing, analytical, and problem-solving skills using Lean Six Sigma improvement methods and tools, Design of Experiments (DOE’s), Product and Process Understanding (PPU), and Process Validation
Experience working in a Health Care manufacturing environment (ISO 9001, QMS)
Strong communication and cross-functional leadership skills and the ability to effectively interact at all levels from line operator to division manufacturing/supply chain operational leadership

Applicable to US Applicants Only:The expected compensation range for this position is $119,076 – $145,537, which includes base pay plus variable incentive pay, if eligible. This range represents a good faith estimate for this position.
