Job Summary/Basic Functions

The College of Business (COB) Recruitment & Retention Coordinator is responsible for developing, planning, and implementing recruitment initiatives for students including under-represented populations and in support of those seeking admission to enroll in COB programs. The incumbent advises students, develops, and organizes outreach events, establishes and maintains positive relationships with local and regional schools/districts. Provides retention services/programming for admitted COB students to increase student success and graduation prospects. Performs basic office and administrative functions such as email correspondence, answering phones and scheduling appointments. The incumbent also develops and hosts academic, community, and social programs and events. Conducts both group and individual sessions with prospective and existing students in addition to alumni.

Minimum Qualifications

Education: Bachelor’s Degree. Masters Preferred.

Experience: Two years related work experience in higher education

  • Social media marketing experience (Instagram, Facebook, and TikTok)

Job Duties:

  • 80% – Identifies and recruits eligible students for the purpose of increasing enrollment in The College of Business Develops/implements recruitment plans for specified schools/districts and community colleges Effectively communicates admission standards, financial aid/funding sources and graduation standards to prospective students/families; possesses and articulates a base knowledge of all colleges/departments at EKU Travels to designated target areas for purpose of recruitment; in-state and out-of-state travel to select markets Develops and cultivates positive relationships with regional school districts; arranges and facilitates in-school visits to promote EKU and COB programs Designs, arranges, and facilitates on-campus events, specific to COB; provides campus tours, “open houses” Works collaboratively with Admissions and colleges at EKU, to plan, host and facilitate large and small-scale on-campus recruiting events Collaborates with other departments to develop, plan, implement, and evaluate various strategies to increase student success, retention, and community development. Becomes a proficient SLATE user; correctly documents events and recruitment efforts in a timely manner; maintains recruitment records for assigned school districts and regional and national recruitment efforts; evaluates effectiveness of activities; tracks yield on admission to enrollment utilizing SLATE and suggests initiatives to increase that yield Spearheads creative digital marketing initiatives to reach targeted audiences; ensures social media recruitment efforts are in alignment with EKU Brand Management expectations/standards Distributes information about EKU to prospective students/families-direct mailing, internet marketing, print and digital advertising Other duties as assigned by the Academic Affairs Director of Recruiting – (Essential)
  • 10% – Leads retention efforts for admitted students within The College of Business Work collaboratively with the COB Dean/departments to provide retention programming for admitted COB students-increasing student success – (Essential)
  • 10% – Supports COB by completing duties and special projects requested by the Dean of COB; in collaboration with Academic Affairs – (Essential)
